Lei n.º 35/2024 has a duration of 180 days, and allows the Government to change the following legislation:
- Lei n.º 56/2023, de 6 de outubro, known as the Mais Habitação program and which introduced the CEAL tax for the first time.
- The Código do Imposto Municipal sobre Imóveis, which was changed by the Mais Habitação law to include an increase in property taxes (IMI) for Alojamento Local establishments
- The Código do Imposto sobre o Rendimento das Pessoas Singulares, or IRS Code, in order to change the requisite of a property being designated a primary residence for 2 years before being eligible for capital gains exemptions. This period may now be changed to 12 months.
